Midwest Construction Services' Health and Safety Policy

Our family of parent and subsidiary companies are committed above all to the safety, health, and well being of our employees and their families. MCS’s wide focus on safety education, training and injury prevention is the single most important core value of our company. This corporate core value not only benefits our employees and their families, but our clients and customers as well. We continue to raise our standards for safety performance in every area of our operations, in every one of our companies. Our on-going efforts have resulted in an excellent EMR factor. As direct beneficiaries of our strong safety program, our customers can expect the very best from our workforce.

As a reflection of MCS’s culture of safety, our safety mission is:

  • to develop an uncompromisingly safe and healthy work environment for all employees
  • to commit to a standard that all accidents can be prevented

It is our sincere objective to eliminate all occupational accidents and incidents in our workplace and on our projects. To compromise this absolute objective with a tolerance of any degree is socially unacceptable. This formal plan becomes the guideline in our culture and the standard by which each of us should be judged. We expect all persons involved with MCS to adopt this standard as their own.

Management’s Commitment:

We are responsible for providing our employees a safe and healthy workplace.

We are responsible for supporting to the fullest extent the MCS Health and Safety Policy.

We are responsible for the development and necessary training of rules, procedures, programs, and specific policy that support the health and safety of our employees.

We are responsible to ensure our employees understand the hazards to which they may be exposed and how to prevent harm to themselves and others.

We are responsible to provide appropriate personal protective equipment, and training for each and every MCS employee working in areas where hazards can not be eliminated. These measures are taken to ensure a safe working environment.

Our Presidents, Vice Presidents, General Managers, Managers, and Supervisors are responsible for compliance within the framework of company policy and our health and safety program.

As a condition of employment, our employees must comply fully with the MCS Safety and Health Policy and actively participate in safety program development, safety training programs, continuous plan improvement, and must take personal responsibility to work safe.
