• Performs overhead and underground line construction duties, as
directed by the Field Superintendent and/or Journeyman Lineman.
Must have current Commercial Driver’s License and comply with
all Company, State, and Federal regulation governing commercial
vehicle operation.
• Must be enrolled in, and actively participating in, the
Merchant Apprenticeship Training Course provided by the company.
• Required to travel to various site locations on limited
notice.
• Confers with the Field Superintendent and/or Journeyman
Lineman to coordinate daily work schedules.
• Insures that all equipment, vehicles, and tools are properly
accounted for, used, and maintained.
• Must adhere to all safety regulations and report any
violations to the Field Superintendent or other member of
management.
• Basic knowledge of overhead and underground power
construction, maintenance and repair, and the necessary tools,
materials and equipment necessary to perform these operations.
• Must have successfully completed a Line School program at an
accredited vocational school, or equivalent.
• While performing duties of this job, the employee works
strictly in outdoor weather conditions, which at times may be
harsh. Must be able to acclimate to conditions such as, heat,
cold, odor/fumes, dust, mechanical and electrical hazards and
vibrations.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to
extreme.
Journeyman Lineman -
• Performs overhead and underground line construction duties, as
directed by the Field Superintendent.
• Must have successfully completed the journeyman examination
requirements administered by an accredited Lineman
Apprenticeship Training program.
• Assigns duties to subordinates, and supervises, inspects,
assists, and instructs Apprentice Linemen or laborers as
necessary.
• Assists the Field Superintendent in the training and
instruction of Apprentice Linemen.
• Insures that all equipment, vehicles, and tools are properly
accounted for, used, and maintained.
• Confers with supervisory personnel to discuss construction
problems and improve methods.
• Must adhere to all safety regulations and report any
violations to the Field Superintendent or other member of
management.

Operators – Heavy Equipment, Backhoe, Directional
Drilling and NCCCO Crane Operators:
• Operator I - Operates small dozers, trenchers, light backhoe,
drives truck, light crane and digger derrick operation. Also
assist laborers when needed. 0 to 3 years experience operating
machinery.
• Operator II - Operates dozers, trenchers, backhoe, drives
truck, crane and digger derrick operation. HDD Operators only –
Performs locating, set-up, and operation of Drill Rig. Also
assist laborers when needed. 3 to 5 years experience operating
machinery.
• Operator III - Operates dozers, trenchers, backhoe, drives
truck, crane and digger derrick operation. HDD Operators only –
Performs locating, set-up, and operation of Drill Rig. Also
assist laborers when needed. Must be able to mobilize any piece
of equipment (Load, Unload, Set-up, Tear-Down). 5+ years
experience operating machinery in a utility construction
atmosphere.
o Confers with the Field Superintendent to coordinate daily work

o Must be able to operate equipment in the presence of fellow
crew members, ensuring the safety of all persons, equipment, and
property in the vicinity.
o Ensures that all equipment, vehicles, and tools are properly
accounted for, used, and maintained.
o Confers with supervisory personnel to discuss construction
problems and improve methods.
o Must adhere to all safety regulations and report any
violations to the Field Superintendent or other member of
management.
o Must have current Commercial Driver’s License and comply with
all Company, State, and Federal regulation governing commercial
vehicle operation.
o Required to travel to various site locations on limited
notice.
o High School diploma, or equivalent preferred.
o Basic knowledge of equipment operation, inspection, and
maintenance. Preferred vocational training or equivalent.
Project Managers –
• Supervises, directs, and works with crews to erect and
install, maintain or repair overhead and underground electrical
and telecommunications systems.
• Responsible for the leadership and coordination of multiple
crews including hiring, training, and disciplinary action of
employees.
• Constantly seeks out new opportunities, customers, vendors,
and also maintains long term relationships with past customers,
vendors and engineering firms.
• Represents Aerial Contractors, Inc. in a professional and
ethical manner at all times.
• Prepares bids and submits them to the General Manager for
approval prior to submittal.
• Studies project specifications to plan procedures for
starting, completion, and staffing requirements for each phase
of construction.
• Assembles members of organization (supervisory, clerical,
engineering, and others involved) at start of projects.
• Estimates and controls costs to complete projects, insuring
estimated profit goals.
• Prepares reviews or reports on progress, materials used and
costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.
• Assists in insuring that the project completes on time and
within budget.
• Insures safety procedures, training and other areas of legal
compliance are adhered to at each project site.
• Required to travel to various site locations on limited
notice.
Laborers:
1. Must be willing to travel.
2. Must have and maintain a valid medical card and driver's
license.
3. Must be able to follow directions.
4. Must be at least 18 years of age.
5. Must be able to operate packer, and lift in excess of 50 lbs
repeatedly.
6. Must be able to work in varying and adverse weather
conditions.
7. Daily stocking and tracking of all assigned tools and
equipment used for installation and equipment/tool maintenance.
8. Maintaining a clean and orderly worksite (pick up what's
around you).
9. Includes all aspects of installation and general labor.
